Scottish National Runners 2010
We now know the final 30 runners for the Scottish Grand National at Ayr and the declarations have thrown up some interesting runners for the big race. As expected it will be Killyglen who will be top weight in the race carrying 11st 12lbs which will be a tough ask for the Howard Johnson trained horse.
Interesting horses with entries include Merigo and Poker De Sivola who won well at the Cheltenham Festival last month, they will be well backed in the Scottish Grand National Odds after some good performances this season. Other runners with entries include the likes of Gone To Lunch who came in second last year and Theatrical Moment who will go for the AP McCoy and Jonjo O'Neill team as they look to repeat their success of Aintree last weekend.
Two notable winners of both the Aintree and Scottish Grand Nationals, were Little Polvier, who won the Scottish National in 1987 and the Aintree Grand National two years later. Earth Summit, won the Scottish National in 1994 and then won the Aintree National in 1998. Earth Summit holds the distinction of being the only horse to have won all three Nationals held in the UK as he also won the Welsh Grand National in 1997.
Obviously the final line up of runners for the National will only be known just prior to the race as will the Scottish National odds of each horse. So before making a Scottish Grand National Free bet, be sure that the horse you have selected will be in the final line up.
